Overview Of Role

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Asia-Pacific (based in Singapore), the incumbent will partner with other departments and work with external auditors in Mongolia to ensure smooth operations to the business activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure monthly closing is accurate, reporting requirements and deadlines are met
  • Responsible for the preparation and P&L analysis of respective desks/products line
  • Prepare monthly management report, financial analysis and audit schedules
  • Partner with Risk, Operation teams and other support functions (based outside Mongolia) to ensure smooth operations on day-to-day business activities
  • Assist in Local government statistical submission and tax matters such as VAT.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors for the year-end audit
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager

Profile

The individual should have the following:

  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written in English
  • 8 – 10 years of working experience; Preferably 3 – 5 years of experience with commodity trading company
  • Sound knowledge of commodities trading and technical accounting background in Mongolia market
  • Familiarity with derivatives accounting and IFRS accounting standard will be an advantage
  • Relevant experience in audit will be advantageous
  • Ability to plan, organize a large volume of activity committed and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Hands-on, independent, self-motivated and committed with sense of urgency; Ability to work with teams based in remote locations
  • Knowledge of Mongolian laws and regulations in terms of taxation, fiscal policies
  • Preferable to have a valid certificate as a Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant
