About Amey

Due to growth within our business we are looking for an Estimating Assistant to join our team! You will work as part of the estimating team and be responsible for assisting in the preparation of detailed analytical tenders and estimates from first principles. You will set up bids on the Estimating software, develop and maintain a library of outputs and pricing data and you will also assist with the pricing of bids and help develop a feedback database from our existing contracts.

This is a full time permanent opportunity which comes with a competitive salary, pension, annual leave and benefits scheme. The role will be of hybrid nature working from home and also our office in Warrington.

What will this role involve?

  • Responsible for managing the tender enquiry process.
  • Responsible for managing al tender enquiry’s with suppliers and supply chain for cost build up.
  • Work closely with the account operational teams for work winning pipeline and manage all tender information for the framework.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project risk registers for the framework.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed analytical tenders and estimates from first principals
  • within defined timescales on bids up to the value of £50m
  • Follow estimating procedures.
  • Maintain and update records of tenders.
  • Assist in the preparation of a comprehensive briefing pack for the Operational Project Teams
  • on all successful tenders.
  • Set up bids on the Estimating Software.
  • Upkeep of the Estimating software database.
  • Participate in the detailed risk assessment process.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a library of outputs and pricing data.
  • Assist in the production of bids in other areas of Operations when necessary.
  • Support operational projects when required.
  • Liaise with other members of the Estimating and Operational teams to deliver high quality estimates and tender submissions.

What are we looking for?

  • Having or be studying for a Degree qualification (RICS or equivalent) is desirable
  • Holder of valid UK driving licence
  • Has experience with NEC forms of contract 3/4
  • Experience in Clean water and Waste water infrastructure services
  • Some background and knowledge in Non infrastructure works is desirable
  • Experience in supporting large framework tenders of varying complexity.
  • Have the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Be numerate and computer literate
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products especially Excel and Word
