An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health Clinicians to join the Mental Health Education Team on a part -time (0.6 minimum) or permanent full time basis. As a CNE, you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality education and training to mental health nursing staff, that is responsive to local and organisational priorities, and develops the foundational and specialty knowledge required to deliver high quality mental health nursing care to Austin Health consumers. The role works collaboratively with the broader Mental Health clinicians and teams in both the inpatient and community areas of practice. Austin Mental Health has a variety of specialty areas in Mental Health, so the opportunity to grow your contemporary mental health nursing knowledge base is vast and exciting.

Essential Knowledge And Skills
- Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent
- Demonstrated commitment to recovery orientated practice, trauma informed care and Safewards
- Demonstrated commitment to the development and education of quality evidenced based mental health nursing care
- A thorough knowledge of the principals of clinical supervision
- Highly developed communication and teaching skills to effectively support a wide range of nursing experience and skill level
- Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of care to consumers in the least restrictive and intrusive manner, respecting rights, privacy and dignity
- Experience in collaborating with consumers, carers, and nominated other persons in the care process
- Experience in the delivery of care in a gender, family, and culturally sensitive manner and environment
- A thorough knowledge of the Mental Health Act (2014) and other relevant legislation and recent Department of Health and Human Services initiatives
- Experience and proficiency in computer skills
