About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Manager - Systems Engineering to join the business on a Permanent basis, at our Crewe site. (Hybrid Working). Reporting to the Functional Manager – Technical Processes, the Technical Manager - Systems Engineering will develop vehicle function models to conceptualise and construct electronic/software based systems following a systems engineering approach.

You will play a part in the Electrical/Electronic Engineering department within the Research and Development function at Bentley. Developing Bentley’s next generation of electronic systems using the latest architectures, powered by advanced software and hardware technologies in an integrated way, to deliver exceptional features and experiences to Bentley customers.

Responsibilities Include:

Developing vehicle function models to conceptualise and construct electronic/software based systems following a Systems Engineering approach (using SysML)
Work together with relevant experts from technical teams across R&D, to create a function context, use-case and activity diagrams
Run simulations/animations wherever possible
Independently work on the function development and make continuous improvements to the working processes.
Support and lead design and development activities for function modelling, and provide regular status updates.

The successful applicant will be a Senior Electronic and Software based System Engineer with proven ability in Automotive, Industrial, Medical or the Aerospace Industry, with experience in Electronic/Software based Systems.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Systems Modelling Language experience (SysML) or equivalent
Thorough understanding of model based systems engineering and the V-Model
Programming skills such as VBA, C*, PYTHON
Knowledge of CAMEO, STATEFLOW or similar tools
Knowledge of requirements engineering and relevant software tools e.g. AVW, DOORS
