REMOTE: To support our expansion we are seeking a highly motivated, professional individual with a background in testing and knowledge of automated testing to join our QA team.

The primary responsibility will be the support and maintenance of our automated test frameworks and the development of automated tests. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who enjoys technical challenges and strives for technical excellence and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment, applies sound judgment and enjoys working both individually and as part of a team. They will show strong initiative and be keen to enhance skills within a rapidly growing software organisation.

The candidate will have a strong desire to develop test automation skills and, ideally, will have some awareness of web-based or desktop automation toolsets. You will be skilled in extraction of test scenarios and subsequent design and implementation of automated testing, and flexible in designing tests using multiple frameworks. You should identify test coverage gaps and opportunities to automate testing to fill such gaps. You will be proficient in web test design through Selenium and posses the ability to accurately estimate and manage time across allocated tasks. You will have strong communication skills and be able to discuss test concepts of project tasks with development, product and stakeholder teams. As well as following documented best practice so that other team members can easily understand purpose, actions and expected outcomes of automated tests

You should also have experience and be comfortable working in an agile setting. Including experience working in an Agile development and testing environment, and background of agile testing concepts and approaches.

Competencies And Skills

  • Collaboration with QA, development and product teams in defining and understanding requirements and subsequent test implementation
  • Experience building automated tests utilising a range of toolsets for both desktop and web based solutions
  • Experience designing tests using Selenium in a BDD context
  • Strong understanding of the concepts of a Page Object Model framework
  • Experience in extracting test scenarios, building these out into positive and negative test cases
  • Passion and drive to develop skills with test automation toolsets and processes
  • Ability to understand, define and communicate requirements for automated test environments and configuration
  • Ability to review and analyse automated test results, investigate failures and report defects
  • Analyse test coverage, identify gaps with potential for automation and implement testing
  • Working in collaboration with a DevOps function
  • Defect identification and reporting experience
  • Software testing certification e.g. ISTQB or equivalent
  • SQL database and query experience
  • Experience designing automated testing for APIs
  • Experience with Object Orientated Programming in test frameworks, ideally .Net (C#)
  • Strong background around agile testing concepts and approach
  • Ability to identify process enhancements and support implementation
  • Experience working with Kanban/scrum agile methodologies
  • Background working with cloud technologies and virtualisation
  • Experience working with de-centralised source control repositories
