Your Career Development

The technical and maintenance teams you will be working with at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd are responsible for the rapid detection, rectification and prevention of faults within our manufacturing facilities. They also control the operation, programming and maintenance of our automated production equipment. Your final goal will be to become a productive member of these elite teams.

You will need to be enthusiastic and well-disciplined as our apprenticeship is heavily focused on attitude and behaviour. In addition, you need to exhibit initiative, be reliable and conscientious. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to think logically and to work both independently and as part of a team.

You’ll spend four years developing your skills by working your way around the department, as well as earning a degree in Civil Engineering. Your final year will be specific in the area of expertise in preparation for your post-apprenticeship role. So all in all, this opportunity gives you hands-on work experience with one of the most prestige automotive brands, plus a university degree qualification: the perfect combination.

Your career with Rolls-Royce will be designed to meet individual aspirations and the business needs of an internationally recognised company. You start on a business awareness programme followed by career objective training in the relevant departments

Projects

  • Contractor / service provider supervision on site at GWD
  • Possible occasional travel to suppliers and other BMW Group companies in and outside the UK
  • Planning and delivery of projects with Lead Times varying between Weeks and Years.

Computer based systems:

  • Microsoft Office
  • 2D and 3D Catia
  • BMW specific software apps

Change management

  • Risk Assessments
  • Data inputting and analysis.
  • Planning and coordination.
  • Support of continuous improvement activities.

Rate of Pay

A competitive salary starting at c.£16,000 pa which will increase annually up to c.£29,000 depending on individual progress and performance.

Working Hours

40 hour working week. Apprentice start and finish times at Goodwood are may vary slightly according to work-based placements and college hours.

  • Maths GCSE Grade B /Level 6 or above and English Language GCSE Grade B /Level 6 or above plus a further three GCSEs including a Science, Engineering, Technology or other Maths Subject at Grade B/l Level 6 or above.
  • 2 A levels at Grade C or above to include a Science, Engineering, Technology, or Maths subject (must have a high numerical content)
  • If you are currently studying or have taken exams you must upload a school/college report or evidence of your results.

Please note that you can submit teacher assessments, predicted grades or other supporting evidence as proof of qualifications.

That’s why in addition to the qualifications we require from you, we’ll also look for you to have a range of skills, attributes and competencies. These include: team working, as well being able to work without close supervision; quality focus; good communication skills; the ability to show enthusiasm and initiative; and to take responsibility and be accountable for your work.

When it comes to selecting the right apprentices, it’s as much about attitude and behaviours as it is about vocational and academic success. That’s why in addition to the qualifications we require from you, we’ll also look for you to have a range of skills, attributes and competencies.
