Canadia Executive Search Group is looking to hire a Human Resources Manager for our client in the chatham-kent area.
Location: Chatham – Kent
Duration: Coverage of Maternity Leave
Salary: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00
Start date: February/2023
Description
- Manage the temporary worker population.
- Manage and track employee headcount/manning reports.
- Champion all in-house Human Resources related programs and associated activities (i.e. Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Communications Committee, Holiday party, Summer picnic)
- Oversee all leaves related to Workers’ Compensation, disability by working with the Third Party Administrator.
- Oversee the return to work program to reduce potential high Workers’ Compensation costs (i.e. provide assistance to the H&S Coordinator when required for a prompt and safe return to work)
- Responsible for the administration of progressive rates and performance evaluation process for all hourly and salaried employees in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance of training records for all employees as per Quality and Environmental Systems requirements
- Act as consultant to senior management and line management on Company policies and procedures as well as interpretation and application of current legislation.
- Actively involve and act as adjudicator to all department Managers and Supervisors on issues relating to progressive disciplines, performance standards, corrective actions, etc.
- Responsible to oversee and contribute to a humane work environment where fairness, equity and non-discrimination practices are the standard.
- Resources activities as required.
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies.
- Compliance with Company policies concerning applicable laws.
- Both office setting and production environment.
- Constant communication with employees, peers, and management.
- Flexible hours as required.
- Ability to work on computer for long periods of time.
- Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis.
- Walking, Standing, and Sitting.
- Health and Safety:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures.
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company.
Qualifications
- College degree in Human Resources Management or similar field, or equivalent Human Resources experience.
- Human Resources designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years Human Resources Generalist experience in manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong communicator in the English language, both written and verbal Knowledge of best practices.
- Knowledge of and administration of benefits program for all full-time employees.
- Ability to manage and run H.R. Department on a day-to-day basis in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, employment law and compliance.
- Ability to interact with the Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the Company’s performance.
- Desire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor and participatee in production meetings.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum direction.
- Strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Acts and regulations.
- Strong understanding of the Employment Standards Act.
- Understanding of the Customer/Supplier relationship.
- Responsible for managing Human Resources staff, Health and Safety, and Reception, to ensure the appropriate training, coaching and discipline is given to ensure high performance of tasks to meet scheduled requirements
- Responsible for the design, implementation, coordination and administration of policies and procedures related to all phases of Human Resources activities
- Create and provide reports to Corporate as required.
- Ensure all system requirements are being met for tracking of company training. training records in HR Systems, update employee & files and follow up where necessary.
- Administer benefit program; update employee changes in on-line system and assist employees with benefit questions and submission of forms.
- Maintenance of employee files and communication boards; by keeping communication boards current and tidy and ensure employee files are neat, organized and up to date.
