Shift pattern: Monday-Friday office hours

We are looking for a Buyer who has an understanding of procurement, who is confident in engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels, and most of all who is driven to provide the best experience for our customers and is passionate about delivering value to the NHS to join our Tower 6 Team.

What will you be doing?

You'll be working within the fastest growing medical device procurement organisation in the UK. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll ensure that the NHS benefit from receiving the best medical devices at the lowest cost, guaranteeing that people like you and us have access to the latest and best performing technology available.

  • Managing a specific and defined category of products to deliver category strategies, procurement plans and ongoing contract management to support the NHS and deliver the objectives of NHS Supply Chain, operating under the current model.
  • Work with members of the procurement, clinical and project management teams to achieve shared category objectives
  • Develop, collate and present category and sourcing strategies in accordance with the agreed plan, working alongside other stakeholders within the business
  • Deliver savings and grow market share using relevant methodologies
  • Work with the procurement team members to manage the supplier base
  • Produce analysis to develop understanding of product area, supply base and market share to ensure thorough product and category knowledge
  • Leverage strengths within the team to deliver optimal results
  • Support with the development of tenders
  • Potential to undertake line management responsibility

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Procurement background to a similar level
  • 1 year experience in a public procurement role (desirable)
  • Commercial acumen
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment with agreed SLA's
  • Attention to detail and confident with all MS packages especially Excel
