IRC221813 – PIPING MECH. ENGINEER

At Eni, we are looking for a Piping Mech. Engineer within Zubair Field Operating Division in Basra, Iraq. You will be responsible for providing specialized mechanical engineering input to the project’s activities starting from the screening studies up to the completion of the execution phase, as direct performer and/or as monitoring/follow-up of the activities performed by others (i.e. contractors).

As a member of engineering team at Zubair Field Operating Division you will be responsible for :

Reviewing and approving the specification, design and supply of static mechanical equipment including piping in onshore production facilities, ensuring that it meets project objectives, industry standards and best practice for safety, reliability, and cost.
Providing specialized support to the technical Authority in projects review to ensure technical integrity, to commissioning and start-up, and to production in trouble shooting activities on facilities already in operation.
Supervising and directing Engineering Detail Contractors during the design, procurement and construction activities, ensuring the quality of the works according to the contract requirements.
Providing technical input, in line with project requirements, into technical studies and Basis of Designing for onshore and offshore production and processing facilities.
Ensuring a smooth and effective transfer of data and information between Contractors and between Contractors and the Company.
Supervising the piping engineering work assigned to external design institutes and engineering companies, to ensure delivery of the work according to the plan and Eni standards.
Performing the preparation of technical documentation for tenders and perform the technical bid evaluation of the technical offers received
Identifying and creating/adopting appropriate facilities & piping mechanical engineering standards, with due consideration of the environmental and logistic conditions of the equipment.
Completing assigned work on time to meet Eni-ZFOD objectives. The work will include: review of Field Modification Requests, investigations, site surveys, feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed design, calculations, cost estimation, preparation of scope of works, preparation of the first MTO (material take off), production of isometric drawings, piping and equipment layout drawings, engineering reports and material specification activities assigned to the Piping engineering discipline; Perform reverse engineering, making measurements on the field and revert them into isometric drawings
Providing guidance & supervision to the 3D Model Review and related follow-on activities.
Optimizing installation and construction activities / sequences, minimizing cost and safety risks.
Contributing to a database of size, weight, cost and delivery time of major equipment and packages.
Participating in process safety reviews activities.
Acting as a technical authority during the MOC (Management of Change) process about mechanical & piping modification requests, replying to formal Deviation/Concession Requests issued by contractors and where necessary act as coordinator in resolution of technical issues.
Assessing capabilities and limitations of detail design contractors and incorporating in development planning and risk mitigation processes.
Competencies in Piping stress analysis.
Training / mentoring junior engineers.
