Job Description

This Licensed Environmental Engineer position functions as the recognized resource for the engineering review and issuance of construction permits for all surface water treatment plants for a specified geographic area (Genesee, Saginaw, Sanilac, Midland, Bay, Arenac, Iosco, Alpena, Mackinac, Chippewa, Schoolcraft, Delta, Menominee, Marquette, Baraga and Ontonagon counties). This position will also be responsible for reviewing technical documents and analyzing technical data related to surface water systems.

Position Description

The work location for this position will be determined based on the selected candidate. However, the selected candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule (combination of remote and in-person) or a fully remote work schedule (with occasional travel to their official work location). Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan. When working remote, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access. Required Education And Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Experience

Three years of professional environmental engineering experience in the protection and improvement of land and water resources, occupational health or air quality equivalent to an Environmental Engineer, including one year equivalent to an Environmental Engineer P11.

Additional Requirements And Information

NOTE: Possession of a registered professional engineer license as required by the State of Michigan.
