Job Requirements
- Reviewing daily bank statement activity and registering cash into the Genius Underwriting database
- Applying premium receipts against the receivables
- Applying cash disbursements against authorized claim payments and ensuring payment details agree
- Taking a result driven approach to investigate and resolve discrepancies between amounts due and amounts settled and unidentified cash receipts
- Following up on aged receivables with brokers and underwriters
- Compiling, formatting, reviewing, and submitting aged receivable reports
- Ensuring management is informed of issues and demonstrate progression of an action plan
- Managing administration of master policy information for submissions
- Monitoring daily bankruptcy notices
- Any other items in support of the Underwriting Operations team
Work Experience
- A degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Finance background and understanding of basic accounting would be an asset
- Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of AS400 would be an asset
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical-thinking skills
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to be proactive, work on own initiative and look for improvements to working processes for greater efficiency
- Ability to work overtime and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in performing similar duties to those listed above
- Strong organizational and time management skills
