Forbes Solicitors are looking for an Associate Solicitor to join the Housing Disrepair Team at our Leeds Office . This is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week, Monday- Friday, based at our Leeds office with the option for hybrid working available.

This is a great opportunity for an Experienced Property Litigation Solicitor to join a growing collaborative and professional team. Whilst the role will be working to the fast-pace, customer focus and high standards of a law firm, the role will also provide a sustainable work-life balance and relate to the regional area in which it is based.

The role will be responsible for delivering successful outcomes such as:

  • Handling their own case load of complex housing disrepair claims, possession claims and other housing litigation matters;
  • Drafting Tenders and assisting with business development;
  • File Management on the Firms case management system;
  • Developing relationships with clients including delivering training to clients;
  • Preparation and submission of responses to and defence of claims for local Council or Housing Associations;
  • Drafting legal documentation and conduct legal research;
  • Assisting with the supervision of junior members of the team.

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on applications demonstrating the following the knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Good practical knowledge of Housing Disrepair claims and litigation generally;
  • At least 3 years of litigation experience with proven track record of handling caseloads and managing deadlines;
  • Be SRA or CILEx qualified (hold CILEx qualification/Law Degree);
  • Have excellent knowledge of case management systems and other IT software such as Microsoft Office;
  • Have the ability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targets;
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised and possess good self-motivation skills;
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and be reliable and enthusiastic;
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral;
