We are seeking an International Benefits Manager to join us at GSK! This is a fantastic role for an individual with regional benefits experience looking to take a step into a global role. This role has a specific focus on Medical and Pensions (DB and DC), we are therefore keen to hear from individuals experienced in these areas.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Governance – Ensure programs align to GSK’s global benefit strategy and philosophy while meeting local needs and regulatory requirements in all countries.
  • Leads global benefit projects and initiatives— partner with, consult and influence Regional C&B managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful deliverables from CoE perspective.
  • Manage strategic plan design, administration, vendor selection, and communications for all global benefits plans, e.g. expatriate medical plan and international pension plans
  • Lead and partner across global organization to recommend, analyze and implement global benefits-related projects– such as preferred vendor selection, process improvement, market/competitive benchmarking & analyses.
  • Partner with Treasury to support the employee benefits captive arrangement, including completing annual renewals, vendor management, liaising between captive and regional C&B teams, and continually finding ways to leverage the Captive in managing risk
  • Manage all aspects of global brokering relationship
  • Provide analysis and migration support for merger and acquisition activity. Spearhead harmonization and benefits integration activities.
  • Manages compliance and governance via our global international benefits inventory database (Mercer Gold). Ensure integrity of database through annual audits and enhances tool’s functionality as needed.
  • Continuously monitors worldwide trends and legislation to anticipate employee benefit impact and ensure plans are compliant with all local regulations
  • Assists in developing and implementing effective and thoughtful communications to ensure stakeholders understand deliverables.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrable experience in employee benefits, preferably some exposure to international benefits programs and administration
  • Experience with a full array of benefits programs including DC and DB plans, medical plans, life, AD&D, disability plans, health and wellbeing, etc.
  • Prior experience in a large, complex organisation
  • Ability to effectively lead, project manage, consult and influence individuals and global teams from design to the implementation stage
  • Proven ability to work well independently
  • Ability to work effectively across different countries, cultures, business units, and levels of management
  • Flexibility to work with global teams in different time zones & undertake occasional travel
  • Experience in analyzing competitive benefit practices. Solid technical knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with desk tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge & experience working with Captive Insurance programmes is desirable
  • Experience in a Global Benefits role
  • Actuary qualification/experience
