Our client is an exciting, fast-paced business based in Belfast city centre. They are looking to add a graduate finance assistant to their busy finance team. Full training will be provided for this role. If you are a recent graduate or keen to kick start your career in accountancy & finance, then this is the role for you.

Your new role

Specific Roles & Responsibilities Include

The successful candidate will be providing support to the team as and when required whilst receiving ongoing support and development.

  • Assist with reporting of daily figures to Management and Head Office.
  • Posting and matching incoming and outgoing cash against ledger on the various systems.
  • Working on unposted items to achieve a settlement resolution, by liaising via email and telephone communication with tenants to gain remittances and/or Credit Control Team.
  • Dealing with email enquiries.
  • Issuing of payment receipts, as and when necessary
  • Assisting with system generated reporting aspects of the department.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.
  • Locating and retrieve archived files. Inputting archive files accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Bank deposits.
  • Supporting the business according to its needs

What You’ll Need To Succeed

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and driven candidate. The successful applicant will be a keen learner and will have an aptitude for accounts.

In addition to a positive attitude, the successful applicant will have:

  • 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or equivalent to include English and Maths.
  • Reasonable experience operating Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to use common sense and be organised.
  • A flexible and helpful mind set.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills.
  • Some experience in customer service and/or administration.
  • An ability to work without full supervision.
  • An ability to use initiative and communicate any issues or ideas to the manager.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Finance
  • Grade A/B Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • Excel qualifications / GCSE ICT
