Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is recruiting for a HSSE Supervisor (Offshore) to join our team in Brunei.
Purpose / Role
To develop a project – wide culture whereby contributors will execute the project with no harm to people or the environment. To ensure that all project uncertainties are systematically identified, assessed, and proactively managed in order to maximize opportunities whilst managing possible threats. Build a culture of personal accountability where safe behaviors are re – in forced, and at – risk behaviors are challenged
Key aims and objectives
- Provide positive leadership for the [contract / [project / location] on HSSE issues and promote the adoption of HSSE best practice
- Promote an enthusiastic HSSE culture that delivers positive commitment to, and engages all employees in, continuous performance improvement
- Lead and provide functional management of HSSE personnel under their control
Prime responsibilities and duties
- Develop and maintain Project HSSE Management System
- Management Client HSSE interface
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the HSSE management system and progress against the WOOD HSSE Performance Standards. Make recommendations for improvement where appropriate
- Provide assistance and advice to the Project Manager / Location Manager with responsibility for HSSE
- Contribute towards developing annual HSSE objectives for Project / Location. Monitor and report on the implementation and effectiveness
- Assist with the identification of HSSE training needs and monitor delivery and recording
- Monitor and report on the implementation of the approved HSSE objectives
- Produce HSSE performance reports as required
- Promptly alert line and functional management to significant accidents and incidents. Where appropriate be involved in the investigation and ensure that the findings are reported and appropriately shared
- Review accident and incident reports. Identify any trends and ensure that there is appropriate response to prevent future occurrence
- Carry out audits / reviews as necessary to ensure compliance with processes / legislation
Allied occasional duties
- Part of Emergency Response organization
- Contribute towards development of bids
- Participate in HSSE Function Away Days
- Provide support to Function and / or other projects as necessary
- Provide cover for site HSSE personnel

Qualifications / Training
Skills / Qualifications
Essential:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent or NEBOSH General Certificate and degree
- Lead Auditor (certified)
- IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities (or similar)
- BOSIET
Desirable:
- Management skills
- member of recognized Professional Body
Experience
Essential:
- >10 years Oil and Gas in HSSE capacity
- Line management responsibility
- In depth knowledge of HSSE legislation and best practice
Desirable:
- >15 years Oil & Gas in HSSE capacity
- Offshore / major fabrication experience
- Knowledge of other industries
- Senior position in other Projects / companies
