H&T are looking for a dynamic Desktop Hardware Engineer. Based in our Sutton head office. This will also involve a degree of travel to our 275 stores across the UK to assist with new store openings and troubleshooting of reported issue. The role will deliver Desktop hardware projects to an expanding campus of stores and colleagues to included local area networks, telephony, retail and desktop equipment.

Role Purpose

Provide Hardware and Desktop support for Store and Office based colleagues.

Provide planning, procurement, build and installation of store computer equipment and all associated peripherals. Support the stores local area and WIFI networks and all associated hardware to ensure continuous trading. Ensure office and home based employees have required computer and telephony equipment, and that it is supported throughout its lifecycle and then received back from departing colleagues.

Procurement, receipt, inventory, tracking and distribution

Ensure adequate computer and peripheral stock (for new store requirement and replacement of damaged items)

Recovery of equipment from leavers and refurbishment to stock

Management of WEEE compliant disposal of end-of-life equipment.

Mobile device management for tablet and mobile telephony estate.

Key Responsibilities:

New Store Openings

Plan, Procure, Build, Ship and Assist with installation of IT equipment in stores as required for new openings.

Responsibility for delivering Network Connections, Computers , Peripherals, CCTV systems and Digital Display boards for openings and ongoing support

Store visits to assist our Property team with the new stores fit out and first day support.

Store and Colleague Support

Hardware procurement and provisioning for new starters in office based locations

Management of Network connections and Voice IP systems through 3rd Party provider(including invoice reconciliation)

Management of Mobile device fleet and 4G Store back up connections

Store and other H&T site visits to resolve issues as they arise.

Asset Management

Performs asset management activities

IT Support

· Provide escalation point for Store and Colleague Support team

· Provide 1st/2nd line support to assist teams as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a desk top hardware support environment
  • Colleague desktop, remote working and executive support skills
  • Excellent customer service, communication and organisational time management skills
  • Experience of responsibility for mass hardware deployments
  • Asset management control and reporting.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PC/Desktop/Laptop Hardware
  • Understanding of network technologies; TCP/IP, Switches, DNS ,DHCP, Routers
  • Microsoft Windows 10; Deployments, Builds and Troubleshooting
  • Active Directory and G-Suite knowledge

Desirable

· ITIL Foundation V3 or V4 qualification.

· Project Management qualification or solid experience of completing projects.
