We are looking for a conscientious, hard-working, proactive, caring person to join our team as a temporary Band 3 Radiology Assistant at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth, West Wales.

This post will be a fixed term/secondment contract until 01/02/2023 w ith the possibility of extension depending on future available funding. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

It is essential that you enjoy working with people and have great communication skills. You must have patience and be methodical, work well in a team but have the ability to take initiative and work individually.

Duties include:

  • Assisting the Radiographers working in the clinical area.
  • To perform clerical and administration duties including data input.
  • To welcome patients and escort them to changing rooms.
  • To assist patients to prepare for imaging procedures.
  • Supporting the radiographers and patients during and after imaging procedures.
  • Cleaning and general hygiene tasks in the dept.
  • Stocktaking of designated consumables.
  • To transport patients and associated paperwork to and from Radiology.
  • Previous hospital experience would be desirable.
  • Previous X ray experience would be wonderful.
