An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our Community Team for People with a Learning Disability (CTLD) in Hywel Dda University Health Board, based in the Carmarthen area.

You will be expected to work proactively and creatively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence based nursing care to adults and young people with a learning disability in partnership with them and their families/carers. You will have the opportunity to work closely with other colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team, and will provide specialist advice, support and training to colleagues, families and carers in addition to the people on your caseload.

You will also be supported to develop your own clinical competency profile and to develop skills in specialist areas of practice.

Successful applicants will have postgraduate experience of working as a Registered Learning Disability Nurse within a healthcare setting, and have a broad knowledge of clinical specialities. We offer regular supervision, professional development and access to peer nursing support.

We would expect any interested candidates to be up to date with current policy/legislation and demonstrate an ability to improve service delivery by promoting change in health related projects.

You will have current NMC Registration with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Successful applicants will be based in Carmarthen, with some remote/home working and will be expected to travel between settings to visit clients in their preferred place of care.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
