An exciting opportunity has arisen in Amman Valley Hospital on Cysgod y Cwm ward.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and patient focused Band 5 Staff Nurse with an interest in Elderly Care Medicine to join our team , the applicant should be a competent team member who is able to embrace and adapt to change and innovation.

Cysgod y Cwm ward is a 28 bedded ward with a mixture of elderly care, rehabilitation and palliative care with complex discharge planning. On the ward, the multidisciplinary team work closely together to provide high quality standard of care and treatment, the Ward supports rehab assistance who specifically work alongside frail patients supporting their nutritional and hydration needs, whilst initiating individual or group activities to boost stimulation, promote health and wellbeing which supports strength development thus reducing the falls risk. In order to facilitate this Amman Valley Hospital has access to the newest technology RITA system to support reminiscence therapy and also the group activities such as music therapy, exercises and quizzes.

This area works closely with the wider MDT and this presents an excellent opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills for discharge planning and autonomous working.

This is a part time post – 30 hours a week / long days and nights.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
