ROLE MISSION

Working in partnership with our client, the Head of Information Security serves as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee and business information in compliance with the organisation’s information security policies. A key element of the role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of security risk for the organisation and propose mitigation measures.

This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide digital and physical information security management programme to ensure that information assets are adequately protected.

ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

The Head of Information Security reports to the CIO and works closely with the Head of Compliance, Head of Infrastructure services, and as required, with project sponsors, owners, and managers. The Group has an external security partner organisation which helps with security assessments, Security Operations Centre, Security Information and Event Management and other security related needs. The role is expected to work closely with this partner and collaborate and yet if required challenge the services offered by the partner.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

• Develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security programme.
• Develop and enhance an information security management framework.
• Understand and interact with related disciplines through committees to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology projects, systems, and services.
• Provide leadership to the enterprise’s information security organisation.
• Partner with business stakeholders across the company to raise awareness of security risk management concerns.
• Assist with the overall business technology planning, providing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems.
• Assist in the management of all projects in the programme of work of the group and give input and analysis at appropriate stage-gates of projects.
• Be the primary contact and demand manager of the group’s external security partners and conduct internal and external security assessment activities.

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL

• Degree in business administration or a technology-related field.
• One or more up to date professional security management certifications, and the ability and willingness to recertify periodically.
• Minimum of eight to 12 years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security and IT jobs.
• Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and high level of personal integrity.
• Ability to present convincingly to the highest levels of management.
• Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with contract and vendor negotiations and management including managed services.
• Specific experience in Agile and Waterfall software development or other best in class development practices.
• Experience with Cloud computing/Elastic computing across virtualised environments.
