About The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large, +£1billion project with over 600 JV personnel employed across multiple locations mainly in Warrington, Sellafield and Stockton. The BEP Joint Venture project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Box Encapsulation Project (BEP).

This role will be based at Sellafield Site in Cumbria. The Project Quality Engineer will report to the BEPDT Quality Manager and will support the Site QA/QC Lead.

  • To review, and endorsed as appropriate, Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans; undertaking associated compliance verification activities as appropriate.
  • Understand and implement the processes necessary for the provision of timely appropriate Quality support to other BEP Delivery Team departments.
  • Conduct Quality audits of the BEP site activities and sub-contractor operations on site, and off site as directed, in accordance with the Project Audit Schedule.
  • Ensure the quality standards of the BEP Project are consistently met, raising the authorised project documentation where this is not the case.

The candidate must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to converse effectively and interface with all Areas of the project, whilst working professionally within a client facing environment.

  • Significant experience working in a QA function or QC function with development into QA via lead audit and CQI membership.
  • Oversight of subcontractors, compilation and review of lifetime records. Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems and Sellafield CQRM.
  • Maintenance of package status & progress reporting, raising issues and liaising with the project and client QA/QC team
  • ISO 9001 Lead auditor
  • CQI membership
  • QC qualifications CSWIP/PCN/ICORR in welding inspection/NDT & Coatings desirable but not essential
