About The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for a General Maintenance Technician to join the Laboratory Facilities (LabFM) Team at our laboratories at birchwood, Warrington. The General Maintenance Technician will report to the LabFM Mechanical Technical lead and work closely with the 3 existing building managers. The existing team are responsible for delivering efficient and proactive maintenance to a wide range of systems across our 7 lab buildings at Birchwood Park in Warrington. LabFM need an enthusiastic and experienced individual to support them in delivering in an exciting and changing environment.
- Carrying out basic plumbing, decorative and carpentry activities. Qualifications in at least one trade is a necessity but experience in multiple disciples would be an advantage.
- Other activities such as moving equipment around site, building flat pack furniture, installing wall mounted items such as notice boards etc.
- Carrying out basic checks and report issues on heating systems, compressed air systems and fire alarm systems (training given).
- Assisting the electric maintenance engineer where activities require an additional person.
- Escorting external contractors in and around the laboratories.
- Experience of using forklift trucks and a current licence would be an advantage.
