Job Description & Role Responsibilities
Main Purpose of Job:
The CloudOps Administrator is responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Safefood 360 Azure infrastructure to meet our application needs and our compliance requirements.

Responsible for:
Delivery of Azure infrastructure and DevOps tooling to support the Software Engineering team. The CloudOps Administrator will take day-to-day responsibility for the configuration and maintenance of agreed functionality on the Safefood 360 Azure environment, ensuring that we meet compliance requirements where relevant and providing feedback to the wider Engineering function on opportunities for enhancement.
Main Tasks of Job:
- Implements, monitors, and maintains MS Azure solutions and services related to compute, network, security (intrusion detection/prevention), storage
- Configures and maintains deployment work flows with tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines and Octopus Deploy
- Manages subscriptions, accounts, users, groups
- Maintains ‘golden’ images for VM deployment, including any necessary security hardening as agreed with the wider engineering team
- Takes responsibility for the implementation of agreed policy and process for the maintenance of Azure infrastructure components to meet organisational standards
- Ensures agreed disaster recovery, data protection and failover procedures are in place, maintained and tested annually
- Maintains monitoring and alerting configuration
- Acts as a first responder during major incidents, analysing the issue and identifying potential solutions and/or mitigations
- Supports software release processes using appropriate tools and techniques
- Supports organisational compliance with SOC2 requirements
- Supporting the Engineering team with environment provisioning
- Automation using Runbooks / Scheduling Jobs using Runbooks
- Identifies opportunities for process and efficiency improvements in relation to Azure functionality and software delivery

Qualifications
Qualifications & Role Specification
- At least 3 years of experience operating Azure infrastructure of moderate complexity. MS Azure certification is an advantage but not essential
- Experience in configuring and maintaining deployment work flows with tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines and Octopus Deploy
- Understanding of container technologies and serverless architecture is an advantage (Azure functions, Docker containers, Kubernetes, IoT hubs, Data Factories)
- Knowledge of scripting (powershell/batch/python) and Azure Automation is preferred
