Headquartered in Budapest, the Hungarian entity has been part of the Group since 25+ years and today watches over a network of about 200+ employees. Our client is acting as a reliable B2B trading partner for a wide range of products in materials in the maintenance, repair, and production segments for their customers in the building, mobility, and industry sectors.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Managing Director leads and drives the business strategy, the execution of business objectives and all associated activities and priorities within the sub-region Hungary & Romania to deliver on the agreed operational, financial and growth results. The Managing Director serves as partner to the Regional SVP and Regional Cross Functions whilst providing leadership and management oversight to the business. The position reports to the Regional SVP.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides strong leadership and accountability for achieving the short-, medium- and long-term goals of the business for the sub-region
  • Drives sales and commercial development in accordance with market share growth, revenue- and profitability targets within the framework of the Group strategy (clear responsibility for turnover, margin, selling costs and EBT result)
  • Translates group & regional strategy into operational goals and steers these sustainably
  • Takes accountability for the result and economic planning of the business
  • Analyses and translates business specific commercial and market complexities as well as opportunities and challenges to facilitate understanding and appropriate decision-making including response / action
  • Builds alignment, readiness to change and drive; conceptualizes and realizes organizational transformation imperatives within the business
  • Demonstrates clear leadership to build highly engaged and performance focused business organizations and teams
  • Provides guidance and ensures the development of business capabilities at all levels through investment in, sponsorship and fast tracking of talent, incl. fostering diversity
  • Instils an internal and external partnership mindset by identifying, leveraging, and securing business synergies and economies of scale
  • Appropriately engages internal stakeholders, external partners, customers, and the market whilst building our corporate brand in all dimensions
  • Together with matrix functional leaders, takes accountability for the delivery of functional excellence across the whole value chain. This includes continuous improvement of processes, productivity & customer satisfaction
  • Takes ownership to ensures good corporate governance is in place and imbedded throughout the organization
  • Ensures understanding of and that our organizational values are lived

LOCATION

Budapest, (very) few overnight stay travel (≤20%)

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate from Business or Engineering school
  • Successful B2B general management track record in international sales driven organizations, ideally in multichannel model & direct sales
  • Good coaching skills, knows how to ensure performance across geography
  • Extensive experience in KPI-based management
  • Proven ability to manage change and truly transform a people-driven business
  • Fluent in Hungarian and English is mandatory; German and/or Romanian would be a plus
