About the role:

The Tax Manager is responsible for the day-to-day tax matters of the business, across all taxes, across all territories, to ensure efficiency and compliance with our legal obligations. This is a role that can create value through identification of opportunities and detailed analysis and will include the following duties:

  • Preparation of tax computations and returns.
  • Preparation of tax figures for group reporting purposes, including statutory accounts
  • Forecasting effective tax rates and cash tax payments for budgets and medium term planning
  • Review of group VAT returns, preparation of PSA’s, oversee the preparation of P11D’s
  • Manage and optimise tax relief/claims in respect of significant capital expenditure projects
  • Manage and optimise the interest deductibility, including CIR modelling
  • Review of Transfer Pricing compliance across all entities
  • With the support of external advisors, assist in the management of tax compliance associated with the US business
  • Help develop and manage relationships with external tax advisers
  • Support the Director of Tax & Pensions in managing the relationship with HMRC and in time, other tax related governmental authorities.
  • Assist the Director of Tax & Pensions identifying, developing and implementing planning strategies for optimisation of the group’s UK and International tax position.
  • Assist in providing support and advice on tax due diligence and related structuring for M&A activity
  • Manage relationship with US tax advisors and US FD to ensure compliance with US filings
  • Provide practical advice to the airport divisions, commercial, finance and property teams on the tax impact of specific business transactions and actively project manage as required
  • Advise on all other taxation issues for the group, including indirect tax and employee tax compliance.
  • Ensuring the business is kept up to date with changes to tax legislation

  • Qualified Accountant and/or Tax Professional (ACA and/or CTA) of graduate calibre
  • Experience of managing a corporation tax reporting and compliance cycle within a Group
  • Broad UK tax experience and knowledge of UK tax legislation. Some knowledge of/exposure to US tax, indirect and employment taxes
  • Enthusiastic and flexible team player who can interact and work well with a wide range of individuals
  • Willingness and desire to broaden skills and experience across all taxes across a number of territories
  • Experience of tax software and strong Excel analysis skills
  • Resourceful, practical and ability to work independently
