Senior Data Engineer

Edinburgh – City Centre

Up to £55,000 + excellent package

MBN are working with a well renowned & respected charity in Edinburgh, supporting their growing data function as they expand their operations & business use of data. They recognise that good analytics comes from good data, so are appointing a Senior Data Engineer to improve and refine their AWS data platform which is the backbone of their analytical capability.

You’ll be working closely with the Data Engineering Manger & Insights team to set up data pipelines, both batch & streaming into the cloud. Being the Senior Data Engineer, you will pioneer clean code – help upskill the other Engineers in programming, AWS, and DevOps principles, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make your mark with recommendations of best practice to the wider team.

We’re ideally looking for Data professionals with solid SQL coding experience, Python skills, and exposure to AWS technologies from a Data Engineering or DevOps perspective – but other programming languages and cloud will be considered.

Skills/Tech:

Python coding & SQL experience
AWS, GCP, or Azure
DevOps – CI/CD & Docker/Kubernetes experience desirable
Spark/PySpark desirable
An understanding of how data drives & influences business decisions
