Summary

You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Security Department of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER BAHRAIN . Relocation and recruitment incentives up to 25% may be authorized. The current workweek is Sunday through Thursday. Employees hired from continental U.S. will receive Sunday Premium Pay (computed at 25% of basic hourly rate, eight hours per week).

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpret security policy requirements, concepts and principles to solve complex issues and prepare organizational security guidance; 2) Analyze security procedures, methods, or processes to develop options, recommendations, or decisions; 3) Conduct analysis of security organizational structure to assess effectiveness of operations; and 4) Manage security directives relating to the Physical Security and loss prevention program. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is performed in an office setting that includes the everyday risks and discomforts typical of offices and meeting rooms. Incumbent may operate shredders, access control systems, closed circuit television (CCTV), systems, and high-security locks. Frequent use of computer equipment and telephone is required. Short deadlines require working under stress. Physical exertion may be required on occasion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and similar activities. Performance of work may require lifting moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Security specialists engage in such exertions when they conduct certification inspections of offices, buildings, or industrial facilities for physical security or information security requirements compliance. Performance of such work may take place in attics, crawlspaces, walls, ceilings, and other limited access spaces, when planning and monitoring the installation of security systems as part of original or remodeled construction. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Periodic on-site field visits to conduct inspections, surveys, and investigations, conduct training and perform fact-finding duties will involve work at a variety of locations. The work may involve entering material handling, warehouse, or industrial areas with exposure to moderate discomforts, and unpleasantness such as high/low temperatures, adverse weather, confined spaces, high noise levels. This could require using safety equipment and adhering to safety regulations not normally required in day-to-day operations. OTHER CONDITIONS: This position is considered Special Sensitive and requires a T5 investigation w/ SCI eligibility. This position is a test designated position if access to TS is required in execution of duties. You will be required every three years to obtain and maintain the Anti-Terrorism Officer Level II Certification, as well as to graduate from the Naval Security Manager Course, both given by NCIS Security Training Assesment and Assistance Team (STAAT) teams. This position has been identified as a Defense Security Position (DSP) in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Manual 3305.13-M, “DoD Security Accreditation and Certification” and selectees will be required to meet the certification requirements of the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) program. As such, the individual selected for this position must obtain and/or maintain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 2 years of appointment. This position is designated as a Mission-Essential position. This is defined as an employee who may be activated to maintain continuity of Government Operations during emergencies involving national security, a natural disaster, extended emergencies, or other unique situations such as snow emergency days, severe weather conditions, holidays, increased security periods, national emergency or other dismissal or closure situations.
