We are currently recruiting for a Product Review Consultant to join the Product Review team in Heritage Customer.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping our customers to achieve good customer outcomes, ensuring that their and our regulators’ expectations are met. You’ll support our business in doing the right thing for our customers – keeping them at the heart of everything we do and help us understand what actions we can take to make sure our products are performing the best that they can be.

This role will be preferably based in Telford, Wythall or Edinburgh

THE ROLE

You will be joining a team of Product Review Managers and Consultants to design, document and deliver Product Reviews, in conjunction with other relevant business areas.

You will use analytical skills and experience to understand our products and conduct advanced detailed high quality analysis on a range of product data and produce accurate outputs in line with the requirements of the Product Review framework.

Working with a number of stakeholders, you’ll provide conclusions and recommendations as to whether products are being operated in line with our regulatory requirements and good customer outcomes are being achieved.

Teamwork is key; you will work collaboratively with different parts of the business to help us deliver each product review on time with high quality output. You should have good knowledge and understanding of the life and pensions business and the surrounding regulatory and legislative environment, and proven financial services experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing product reviews and associated requirements in readiness for initiation
  • Research and analysis of client-facing literature.
  • Research into the company’s delivery against the promises made to customers, considering where risks to customer outcomes might arise.
  • Performing detailed analysis on a range of product data, presenting this in a format which is easy to understand and informs the reader.
  • Ensuring that the end-to-end customer journey throughout the product lifecycle is taken into consideration throughout the review process, to ensure products are delivering fair outcomes for customers.
  • Applying judgement to propose improvements that achieve good outcomes for customers.
  • Report on any gaps or issues identified via assurance testing or risk assessments.
  • Leading or supporting the presentation of results.
  • Become a subject matter expert on an allocated set of products or books of business.
  • Ensure that proper documentation is created and traceable.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate level of job-specific skills, including research, analysis, IT and communication skills.
  • Identify, recommend and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and control.

Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge of the life and pension industry with good product, customer service and/or sales background.
  • Involvement/Exposure to legislative and regulatory requirements, changes and issues.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative; with the ability to work both as part of a team and individually.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills – able to work well under pressure, balancing multiple priorities to deliver expectations completely and accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, report writing and presentation skills, demonstrating a strong grasp of the task in hand.
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of business stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organisation.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to work in a methodical and structured manner.
  • Comfortably work in an agile environment with a proactive focus on improvement and innovation with the ability to move forward with ease as we work through the workflow stages of delivering product reviews.
  • MS office experience and a basic knowledge of using MS Excel e.g. pivot tables, basic formulas and charting.
  • (Desirable) SQL experience or knowledge of the Phoenix, Standard Life or ReAssure policy administration systems.
