Job Purpose: To provide health promotion to clients on COVID-19 vaccinations, vaccinate and provide post vaccination care and treatment to clients as required.
Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assist with registration, history taking and post vaccination care and treatment
- Monitor patient for complications
- Report all complications to the Registered Nurse
- Implement care during a medical emergency
- Maintain Infection Control Practices
- Ensure all equipment is in working order
- Ensure adequate supplies of daily consumables
- Wearing of epaulettes and name badges are compulsory
Record Keeping
- Ensure patient confidentiality
- Safekeeping of patient records
- Record information as per programmatic requirements
- Keep the area clean and tidy for patients during post vaccination monitoring
- Ensure patients have their return dates and know what to do in the event of side effects or other complications.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
- Current registration with LNC is essential
- Basic Life Support Training
- COVID-19 Vaccinator Training on Knowledge HUB
Desirable Required Qualifications and Experience
- Training on How to set up an Ideal COVID-19 Vaccination Centre
- Cold Chain Management
- Anaphylaxis Management
- Implementation of vaccinations in a Health Care Setting
- Performing Vital Signs and monitoring patients post vaccination and/or other procedures
- Knowledge of Emergency procedures
