Title: Medical Writer

Reports to: Study Director

Location: Hybrid-Hershey, PA

Job Description

The medical writer conveys scientific data and non-clinical research results in a clear, concise manner. Data from non-clinical research projects are compiled by the medical writer into final Reports for submission to the Study Sponsor. In addition to producing content for Reports, medical journals and publications, you may also create content for conferences or presentations. Reaction Biology is committed to scientific accuracy, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable with extensive peer review. While you may collaborate with other writers and our clients themselves, the ability to conduct independent research and produce content on a strict deadline is essential in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit high quality, medically accurate client reports, manuscripts, conference abstracts, and posters
  • Submit articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Develop materials for review by study director to include reports, slides, and information letters
  • Perform background research to support client reports
  • Communicate with scientific stakeholders to ensure written materials are time-appropriate
  • Ensure template sections of documents remain current and consistent across documents/Business Units as applicable
  • Maintain basic to advanced knowledge of the businesses’ projects and client specific reporting requirements as needed
  • Develop and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers
  • Take the initiative to report on project status; anticipate and alert manager and project contributors of potential difficulties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, such as biology or chemistry required
  • PhD. or M.D. preferred
  • Experience writing and editing scientific documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with AMA style
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented approach
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
