Duties & responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance & advice to employees on queries in relation to their employment and benefits
  • Identify areas of opportunity for future enhancements to increase efficiency and consistency, and improve employee experience
  • Have a working knowledge (interpreting and applying) of local employment laws and labor legislation in the Cayman Islands
  • Carry out recruitment process including but not limited to, selection, onboarding, maintenance and offboarding
  • Assess training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives for all employees
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support team members with escalated issues
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leave and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic form
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly.

Skills and attributes:

  • Display a friendly and ‘can- do’ attitude and excellence in customer service
  • Have a recognized qualification in HR Management ideally however not a necessity
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience within a similar HR generalist role advising and supporting line managers on employment law, HR policy and procedures
  • Ability to partner, communicate professionally, be flexible, and able to prioritize and multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Have experience with various HR software and are proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting managers with recruitment and onboarding
  • Sound knowledge of local employment legislation.
