As a Business Architect you will drive the end-to-end business and solution strategy at assigned accounts within the Retail sector. In this role you will assemble and lead teams of presales specialists through sales cycles and collaborate with peers in sales, value advisory and customer engagement to plan and execute account strategies. To be successful you will require a strong desire to learn, a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for maximising customer lifetime value.


Deal Support

  • Collaborate with sales executives to plan and execute account strategies
  • Cultivate high trust relationships with senior stakeholders in assigned accounts
  • Conduct discovery workshops with customers to understand their goals, identify opportunities for improvement and establish how SAP can deliver their desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with sales executives and value advisors to translate the customer’s vision into tangible business outcomes
  • Design solution landscapes that meet the customer’s requirements
  • Develop a winning plan and manage the associated investment
  • Assemble and lead teams of presales specialists through sales cycles
  • Manage and contribute to RFP responses
  • Communicate the customer’s business requirements to the project/implementation team
  • Support customers at each stage of their journey from demand generation through selling, adoption, consumption and expansion.

Business Development / Readiness

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify whitespace opportunities in accounts
  • Participate in one-to-many marketing events for specific industries or solution areas
  • Stay current on SAP solution strategy and industry trends
  • Maintain a close understanding and appreciation of competitive offerings
  • Provide thought leadership and act as a champion for industry-based functionality
  • Identify and adopt new technologies and techniques to increase efficiency and effectiveness e.g. digital presales, immersive studios etc.
  • Share knowledge and experience with the wider presales team


  • In-depth knowledge of the Retail industry
  • Broad knowledge of SAP Solution Portfolio
  • Experience in Presales, Consulting and/or Sales
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team
  • Ability to run multiple projects and activities in parallel
  • Fluency in English
