Job overview

Sutton Uplift is an established Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Service, providing evidence-based psychological therapy delivered by fully trained and accredited practitioners.

The service offers integrated evidence based IAPT treatments as such as counselling as part of a holistic approach using a stepped care model.

The service provides high quality evidence based evidence based psychological therapies for people with common mental health problems (depression and anxiety disorders), delivered in a variety of modalities including over the telephone/video, face to face, or online, both individually and in groups.

About the team:

Sutton Uplift provide primary mental health care services for people aged 18+ who are residents in the borough and/or registered with a Sutton GP. The service is delivered by SWLSTG as the lead contractor working in partnership with a number of national third sector and private organisations.

Sutton Uplift comprises four service streams:

  • An Assessment Team.
  • A Primary Care Mental Health Service
  • A Wellbeing Service delivered in partnership with third sector partners
  • An IAPT service delivering a variety of psychological therapies

Sutton Uplift, whilst offering a wide breadth of service, maintains a focus on promoting wellbeing and independence.

About the role:

The post holder will demonstrate enthusiasm in leading a team, with strong relationship skills and a willingness to work collaboratively. They will line manage and provide strong clinical expertise and operational leadership to the teams ensuring services work to their clinical key performance indicators and are CQC compliant.

The post holder will be working closely with colleagues to help us transform our community mental health services, as part of the NHS Long Term Plan with a focus on integrated care to improve patient outcomes while maintaining and supporting high quality care from existing services.

The Service Manager post is located at the Jubilee health Centre, Wallington, Sutton. The post is a full-time position working at 37.5 hours.

This post is responsible for the onsite operational management of Sutton primary care services.

The postholder will directly manage the Admin Teams across the services, and support line management and strategic focus for the employment streams and wellbeing provision.

The post holder will also work in conjunction with Clinical leads to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

The Sutton Uplift Service Manager will lead the IAPT team in a diverse and inclusive borough, working with a broad demographic including marginalised communities to reduce health inequalities and ensure access to high quality psychological interventions.

If you have managerial/senior clinical experience within a community mental health or IAPT service, this role could be for you. Applications from IAPT/community mental health clinicians ready for their next leadership role are also welcomed.

The post holder will need to be able to develop business cases, lead with stakeholder engagement, partnership relations and new initiatives, as well as support strategic service development where appropriate
