Medical Secretary | Permanent | Sutton Coldfield | £11.41 per hour | Full Time – 37.5 Hours

Spire Little Aston Hospital is expanding and we’re looking to hire an experienced Medical Secretary to join our friendly and supportive Medical Secretary team. This role will be essential in providing a full medical secretary service to consultants and to also support our current medical secretary team.

This is a full-time and permanent position, with working hours across Monday to Friday. This role is based in our Medical secretaries’ office and will involve hot desking, along with covering other secretaries’ annual leave, sickness and extra workload when required.

The hospital has an exceptional reputation within a variety of specialties including Orthopaedics, Sports & Exercise Medicine, Cosmetics, Ophthalmic, Gynaecology, General Surgery & Physiotherapy.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • To type all Consultants clinic notes and letters to General Practitioners within agreed timeframe.
  • To answer patient and Consultant queries.
  • To keep records of all patient results received and distribute to appropriate Consultants.
  • To open Consultants mail and distribute
  • To type discharge summaries dictated by Consultants.
  • To liaise closely with all other hospital departments, demonstrating a can-do attitude.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years Medical Secretary Experience, a Medical Secretary Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a similar role, including providing a full high quality service to consultants and patients.
  • Prior experience using digital dictation software such as Winscribe
  • Fully IT literate and a competent user of MS Office
