This is an exciting opportunity to join the Firm at a time of development, growth and success. The HR team have an important part to play in helping the firm achieve its strategic HR plans and associated priorities.

As an L&D Manager you will help deliver our L&D strategy though the design and delivery of engaging and impactful learning solutions that enable our people to thrive in their career. This a varied and hands on role that will involve the full ownership of learning programmes and collaboration with the team on long term projects. We are looking for a confident and highly-organised individual with an exceptional attention to detail.

Travel to all our UK locations, and potentially internationally, will be required.

Our Team

Our UK HR team consists of our core generalist HR team (responsible for our UK fee earners, support staff and secretarial staff populations), Learning & Development, Recruitment, Projects, Talent Acquisition, Payroll and Rewards & Benefits. The L&D Manager will report to the Head of Learning and Development, and work closely with the wider HR team.

Our Opportunity

Learning and career development plays an important role in supporting our key people priority - to be a stay Firm where all of our people can develop their careers to their full potential. As L&D Manager you will play a key role in this, through the delivery of our L&D strategy.

You will have full ownership of the design, delivery and evaluation of learning and development programmes across our associate, emerging talent and business support populations, using your learning expertise to deliver first class learning interventions within our L&D strategic framework. You'll also work with the Head of L&D to support the design and delivery of leadership and partner development programmes.

You'll have autonomy to make your mark on our L&D initiatives and the opportunity to engage and interact with our senior leaders, partners and other key stakeholders to understand our business and deliver on our learning needs.

You will be hands on in the delivery of global training, working collaboratively with the global HR team, as well as supporting the Head of L&D to deliver the L&D strategy.


This is a very varied role and requires someone who is a confident and motivated self-starter. You will be highly organised and able to manage a varied workload whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You will be a creative and innovative learning expert who is constantly developing their expertise and able translate that into the context of learning in a global law firm.

You will have experience designing, delivering and evaluating learning and development programmes in a variety of formats including eLearning (using Articulate 360), micro learning and live virtual and face-to-face workshops. As an advocate of diversity, equity and inclusion matters you will have an understanding of inclusive learning practices to ensure that your learning interventions enable the advancement of all of our people.

Above all, you will have a track record of achieving long lasting behaviour change through learning using the full learning and development cycle and by partnering with key stakeholders to really understand and deliver on business needs.

You will need to have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in order to demonstrate your credibility to key stakeholders, alongside an ability to build strong working relationships at all levels and work collaboratively to achieve your objectives.
