About The Role

Sunbelt Rentals currently have a new vacancy to expand our Data & BI Team, and we are looking for an experienced Integration Developer to join the team. It’s our vision to own the future of rentals and our mission to deliver a world-class experience.

In the role of Integration Developer you will be responsible for maintaining and developing integration solutions in both new and legacy technologies where appropriate. You’ll also provide exceptional technical support over these integrations to ensure any faults are quickly and effectively resolved. Additionally, you’ll work with the Integration Architect to contribute to the architectural designs of our platforms, and with our Business Analysts in our Customer Engagement team to define requirements and provide estimates.

Sunbelt Rentals operate a bespoke agile framework based around SCRUM and KANBAN wrapped with Waterfall project management principles at a program level to ensure the correct prioritisation and scoping of deliverables. As a software developer you will be expected to be involved in the normal sprint cycles and planningeview sessions as well as the iterative build, test and deployment as part of your relevant delivery team.

The role will work on a hybrid location basis with a mix of remote and office working

About You

To succeed in this role you will need to have:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Significant experience in data integration or architecture.
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience of all integration types including Batch integration, Real time integration including SOA, API, Events and Microservices.
  • Experience of working with both on-premise and cloud-based environments
  • Experience of working within a variety of delivery methodologies including agile, KanBan and waterfall.
  • Architectural implications of performance, scalability and extensibility on system design and approaches for high volume transactional integration solutions.
  • Reviewing technical designs and/or code created.

  • Coded Unit Tests/Integration tests
  • Understanding/Experience of ALM and CI/CD Tooling (Azure DevOps ideally)
  • Experience of appropriate 2nd/3rd generation source control solutions (GIT, TFVC)
  • Technical Design Principles and Practices (SOLID)
  • Relevant Development IDE (Visual Studio 2017+, SSMS, Visual Studio Code etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to accept changing priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small or medium sized team
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Knowledge of the current and upcoming technologies and languages/techniques
  • Any experience in the following technologies would be advantages but training will be provided when needed.
    • Azure Logic Apps
    • Azure API Management
    • Event Bus (RabbitMQ / Azure Service Bus / Other message or event broker)
    • Azure Function Apps
    • MuleSoft
