Position: IT Ops Engineer(FTC- 6 Months, Extendable to 12-24 Months)
Location: Rochdale (Manchester)
Our Opportunity
The Ops IT Engineer will be required to assist with integration, testing, maintenance and support of IT and Software solutions within the GP personalisation sites.
Key to the role will be validation and verification/solutions of issues and challenges relating to the current target and infrastructure, as well as the interfaces received (predominantly from the central development team), and integration of the interfaces within the GP personalisation area.
You’ll be working in a shift pattern and apart from the salary, we also pay an additional shift premium.
Key Responsibilities
- You’ll respond to tickets raised on easy IT or relevant data hubs.
- You’ll keep all version changes up to date and all the relevant versions listed.
- You’ll deploy key infrastructure systems to live BAU environments.
- You’ll support and trouble shoot issues, Internal Thales site-specific technology, software and solutions.
- You’ll plan with operations integration updates or upgrades. You’ll follow up on installs.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested.
About You
- You must have an understanding of network systems and how they interact with each other
- You must have good IT skills in windows Operating Systems, Networking, VMware, and PC hardware.
- You must be familiar with Simple query language (SQL).
- You should be methodical, logical and have a keen learning attitude.
Due to the nature of the work the candidate should hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
In line with Thales’ Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
