Electronics Engineer
Crawley
Thales SIX based in Crawley designs a range of state-of-the-art radio and radio counter measure solutions for some of the most technically advanced defence and security platforms in the world. We are looking to recruit a talented Electronics Engineer who would have an interest in developing a career within a highly specialised field which may one day lead into a SME role.
This Electronic Engineers position covers all aspects of the product lifecycle, from requirements through specification, concept studies, selection of technology, design and development, integration, validation and qualification. This is a great opportunity for those with Electronics Engineering experience to build on their skills to design and support a range of land and naval radio systems.
The Role Would Include But Not Be Limited To
- Producing suitable design and verification documentation, including requirements capture for electronic hardware.
- Designing, simulating and producing PCB schematics for new electronics developments.
- Providing input into PCB layout engineers to assist this activity. Design electronic hardware rigs and assemblies and perform hardware integration and verification.
- Proactively liaise with hardware subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and to assist with manufacturing issues.
- Simulation and analysis
- Presentation of technical issues at design reviews
Applicants Will Need To Hold An Electrical/Electronic Based Qualification And Have
We’re looking for a motivated engineer who has gained experinece in Electronics Engineering, ideally within a regulated or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of Engineering Process and lifecycles
- Experience of design for manufacture, test and support
- Experienced in PCB design including simulation and layout
- Awareness of high speed digital design methods
- Understanding of Signal Integrity Analysis
- Experience working with CAD tools such as:
- Cadence DE HDL for schematic capture or similar
- Xilinx Vivado
- Good understanding of engineering configuration management principles
- Awareness of the fundamentals of: analogue, RF, electro-mechanical and mechanical engineering
