Position: QA Engineer (FTC- 6 Months, Extendable to 12-24 Months)

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer you will ensure capability & alignment of the quality management system with regulatory standards, customer expectations and relevant internal processes and procedures, striving to continuously improve the product quality but at the same time, reducing the cost of quality.

You will be responsible for data collation, data recording and reporting on a regular basis and will be required to analyse results and output looking towards continual improvement at all times.

The work is varied and will include product testing with precision tooling and methodology; Qualifications of Machines and Consumables; Implementing and refining Quality control procedures; Implementing Gemalto Best Practices; Quality Calibration of equipment and tools; Working with and to a Quality Management System; Collation and recording of data; Maintain accurate records, answer queries and provide statistical and management reports and presentations on a regular basis. Preparation for and involvement in both internal and external audits – knowledge of and working to ISO standards is a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & participate in product and process qualifications:

Ensure quality risks within each process are fully understood, thoroughly documented (FMEA) and systematically addressed. Use statistical methods to verify process capability & product quality during qualifications. Implements business or customer change

  • Define & optimise quality standards and measurement system:

Lead the quality system/quality process design, implementation and maintenance to ensure compliance with regulatory & internal standards at minimum Cost of Quality (incl. yield and quality assurance costs).

  • Improve the process:

Lead & support fast-paced PDCA/ DMAIC permanent problem fixing to stabiliseeduce variation in processes and continuously improve performance. Continuously reduce process variation to reduce the Cost of Quality Assurance as well as the Cost of Non-Quality.

  • Share process knowledge:

Document & share solutions, including problem solving/discovery process, within the team, the plant and the group. Create opportunities for intra-group collaboration & adopt appropriate best practices from other sites.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Ideally hold an Engineering Qualification: minimum CQI Diploma in Quality Management or equivalent related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO9000 standards and other ISO standards particularly ISO9001:2015.
  • Proven experience within a quality department in a production environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance(QA) and Quality Control (QC), FMEA techniques and tools related to production processes
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Able to work both as a team player and on own initiative
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and Analytical skills.
  • Experience with QPulse- Desirable.
  • Experience in Training- Desirable.

Due to the nature of the work the candidate should hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
