Contract Fixed Term for 12 months in the first instance.

We are looking for a GCP Compliance Officer to work within the Drug Development Unit. You will play a major role in maintaining GCP compliance within DDU and collaborating laboratories, as well as supporting compliance activities at sponsor-level within DDU’s investigator-initiated trials (IIT) team.

The post holder will ensure that collection, tracking, processing and storage of clinical trial samples for translational studies performed by the Cancer Biomarkers Team, adheres to GCP. The role requires familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of analytical processes within the research environment.

Applications are invited from candidates with a health/science-related degree, who possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be computer literate. Prior work experience in GCP compliance areas and/or research experience in the healthcare sector is desirable.

The Drug Development Unit, within the ICR and Royal Marsden, is one of the leading Phase I Clinical Trials Units, globally. The Unit functions in collaboration with laboratory teams, clinical teams, grant providers, pharma/industry and operational units. The unit operates as a conduit, between laboratory research and clinical research, which is fundamental to the modern drug development process. The main aim of the unit is to fast track the development of anti-cancer drugs designed and synthesised at the ICR, and other, to maximise their potential towards the care of cancer patients.
