As a Medical Office Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health you will

Work as a member of an integrated team and play a significant role in ensuring that clients/patients have a positive experience with the designated services within a fast paced, high volume clinic environment.
Schedule and book appointments, typing technical and non-technical material, maintaining filing and computerized patient/client/client database systems and processing a variety of requisitions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Grade 12, graduation from an approved program as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA), plus one year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to type 50 wpm.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
