About The Opportunity

Join Sanofi Consumer Healthcare as a National Account Manager Grocery. In this role, you will take full P&L accountability for the Grocery channel and are responsible for driving end-to-end effective customer relationships across all relevant touchpoints with our retail partners. You will directly manage Tesco, Sainsburys, ASDA, Morrisons and Waitrose to deliver category & brand growth, and to achieve and exceed targets. You will take ownership for our largest non-Rx channel, interfacing with some of our most dynamic and challenging customers.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will…

  • Build productive relationships with key buying contacts and coordinate a contact strategy to drive breadth and depth of customer engagement
  • Champion the customer agenda internally, feeding into the brand, category, and commercial planning processes
  • Utilise category insights relevant to the channel to develop compelling selling stories grounded in strong commercial rationale
  • Developing annual sales and activity plans for all relevant customers in line with Sanofi brand objectives
  • Build strong joint business plans ensuring alignment of all internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure perfect execution of the customer plans through clear project management and team coordination
  • Robust KPI monitoring to ensure we “pay for performance”
  • Management of promotional spend to deliver in line with gross to net targets
  • Maintain a robust volume forecast, achieve lag three targets +/- 10%
  • Maintain a robust latest financial estimate, by month to full year
  • Monitor details of competitor activity and communicate internally to the cross functional team
  • Input to project work where appropriate

About You

Qualifications/Education & work experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Retail Buying or similar
  • Demonstrable understanding of the major retail environment in the UK – ideally within OTC
  • Experience of POM medicines and prescription marketplace
  • A strong track record of achieving targets and delivering against key business measures
  • Broad understanding of the total business mix – marketing; supply chain; financial management


  • Ability to think strategically and implement operationally
  • Excellent verbal & written presentation, communication, selling and negotiation skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Numerate, Strong financial acumen with good attention to detail
  • Ability to use market data to build commercial arguments
  • Willingness to travel within the UK for customer meetings including some overnight stays
  • Strong team player who values team success as highly as individual success
  • Proactive nature and strive for continuous business improvement
  • You see change as an opportunity and challenge the status quo
  • Language skills: French is a plus
